Can someone check your AI-written chart summary without seeing the chart?

‘Sales are recovering’ might be a fair summary of a chart. It still asks the reader to accept your conclusion if they cannot get at the figures. W3C's existing guidance for complex images gives a chart both a short description and a longer account of its scales, values, relationships and trends. One approach includes headings and a table. It also recommends making long descriptions available to everyone, not only people using assistive technology. If an AI assistant helps describe a chart for a work report, I would give it the underlying data rather than ask it to read small numbers from an image. Check the draft against that data, then keep the figures available beside the summary. A table can let someone compare the months they care about instead of relying on the trend you chose to mention. The reader should be able to disagree with ‘recovering’ without needing a sighted colleague to inspect the bars for them.
