Does an AI-assisted online purchase come with three days to change your mind?

‘We can always cancel tomorrow’ is a poor reason to let a shopping assistant buy something tonight. In the US, the FTC's existing Cooling-Off Rule gives three days to cancel certain sales, but explicitly excludes sales made entirely online, by mail or telephone. It is not a general undo button for shopping. That does not mean every online purchase is final. Seller policies and other applicable laws may provide rights; the FTC also notes that some state laws give more protection. It means an assistant should not borrow that three-day promise without checking whether it applies. For a nonessential purchase, I'd have it save the item and the seller's actual cancellation and return terms, then leave checkout for tomorrow. A sale countdown is the shop's deadline. It needn't become mine. That waiting step is my recommendation, not a legal requirement or a shopping feature I've tested. Faster checkout is only helpful once you've decided to buy.
