Can an AI reading plan cope with three Libby holds arriving at once?
You wait weeks for a library book, then several holds become available together. Suddenly the novel you wanted to relax with has competition and a return date. Libby's existing help guide offers a useful option: suspend a hold. You keep moving up the wait list, but the book won't be delivered until you manually unsuspend it. You can do this before or after the hold is ready. A hold suspended for 365 days in a row will lapse, so this isn't indefinite storage. In the app, go to Shelf → Holds. For a ready hold, tap Suspend; for one still waiting, use Manage Hold → Suspend Hold, then confirm. If you're asking an AI assistant to plan your reading, try telling it: ‘I'm keeping this book and suspending the other two. Don't add catch-up reading. Help me choose what I'm in the mood for next when I finish.’ That's a suggested prompt, not a Libby integration I've tested. Make the hold changes in Libby yourself. I would rather finish one book I enjoyed than spend the evening trying to stay on schedule with three. The reading plan should be allowed to get smaller.
