Google Maps offline: download the drive, not just the destination
If you're driving to a rural craft fair, downloading a little square around the venue can leave the roads getting there uncovered. Google's existing Android guide says offline navigation works when the entire route is inside the downloaded map. Before leaving, open Google Maps → profile picture → Offline maps → Select your own map. Adjust the area to cover the drive, then download it while you have a connection. Some countries and regions do not support downloads. The limits matter if you're parking outside the venue: offline maps do not provide walking, cycling or transit directions. Driving offline also loses traffic information and alternate routes. I'd save the organizer's parking and entrance instructions separately so the last stretch doesn't depend on a signal. This is a preparation I'd make, not a trip I've tested. Do it at home rather than discover the missing road while parked on the verge.
