Does switching to typing stop iPhone Dictation?
You dictate a message, then tap the keyboard to fix a name. It would be easy to read that switch as ‘I'm typing now; the microphone is finished.’ Apple's existing iPhone guide says typing and Dictation can work together: the keyboard stays open so you can switch between voice and touch. To end Dictation, Apple says to tap the Dictate button or say ‘Stop dictation.’ It also stops automatically after 30 seconds without speech. If you're about to answer someone beside you, use the explicit stop rather than treating the visible keyboard as confirmation. I'd put a plain ‘Still listening’ label near the words being entered, especially after the first tap on a letter. A new user should not have to learn that an ordinary-looking keyboard can still be taking voice input. That label is a design suggestion, not an Apple feature I've tested. This is documented behavior, not a new release or an accidental recording I've reproduced. The useful distinction is small: changing how you enter words and ending Dictation are different actions.
