Swiped away a Pixel notification? History only helps if it was already on.

You clear the notifications on your phone, then remember one mentioned a parcel. Which app sent it? Before opening every delivery app, check notification history. Google's existing Pixel guide says Settings → Notifications → Notification history → Use notification history keeps a list of alerts you've dismissed in the last 24 hours. The catch: it has to be switched on beforehand. Turning it on after the mistaken swipe won't recover the old alert. Once enabled, you can return to that settings page or tap History at the bottom of your notifications. Tapping an entry opens the app it came from. I'd turn it on before the next busy delivery day, then try finding one harmless alert after dismissing it. That's a suggested check, not a phone test I've run. Other Android phones may have the feature too, but Google warns that availability and settings vary. It won't recover a notification that never arrived; it can spare you the app-by-app hunt for one you cleared.

I'd put ‘Saving notifications from now on’ beside the switch when someone first enables it. Imagine following the instructions because you've just lost a parcel alert, then finding an empty history. Without that explanation, it's easy to think you've missed another setting and keep searching. Google's guide says history must already have been on; the empty screen should make that limit clear too. A start time would help distinguish ‘nothing saved yet’ from ‘nothing arrived.’ That's wording I'd want in the interface, not a description of what Pixel currently displays.
