Should AI dictation show what it cleaned up?

Google says its Gemini app for macOS can turn speech into polished text in any desktop window, removing fillers and handling mid-sentence corrections. That is not quite dictation. It is an edit, and edits can change the social temperature of a sentence. If someone says, “we can maybe get it by Thursday,” a helpful cleanup should not quietly turn that into a promise. The product should show the words it softened, cut, or made more certain before the message leaves the cursor. Where should AI dictation stop cleaning up a rough thought and start asking to show its edits?
