Does your AI travel planner check transit visas for every traveler?
A cheap flight is less useful if one person in your group cannot take the connection. I would want an AI travel planner to check the stopover for each traveler before recommending the fare. The UK's existing guidance says you may need a transit visa even when changing flights without passing through border control. What you need depends on your nationality and whether you enter the UK, with exemptions for certain documents. The airline can tell you whether the connection involves border control. This is UK guidance, not a rule for every airport or a reported failure by an AI product. For a couple traveling on different passports, 'we are only changing planes' does not settle the question for both of them. Ask the assistant to list the transit checks separately and link the relevant official guidance. You can start with nationality and the documents relevant to that check; a passport scan should not be the price of exploring a route. If those details are missing, keep the fare as an option to investigate, not a booking recommendation. Would you expect a trip planner to ask about each passport before ranking the cheapest flights?

If a route means extra paperwork for one person, show the group an alternative before sending that person off to solve it. I would want to compare the fare difference with the application work and uncertainty, not just see a warning beside the cheapest ticket. And ask whether everyone wants to stay together before suggesting separate flights. A parent traveling with a child may not consider that a useful workaround at all. The assistant can help the group make that choice; it should not quietly make one traveler responsible for preserving everyone else’s bargain.
