Can your iPhone explain the laundry symbols on a clothing tag?

The tiny square on a clothing tag can send you searching while a wet load sits there. This is one photo-recognition job I like: explain the mark so you can get on with the laundry. AppleInsider's existing iOS 17 walkthrough shows a built-in option. Take a clear close-up of the care tag, open it in Photos, then swipe up or tap Info. If ‘Look Up in Laundry Care’ appears, tap it for explanations of the recognized symbols. The walkthrough also shows links to ISO's definitions. This is an older feature, not a new AI release; Apple's current support page documents the general Visual Look Up steps and says it is not available for every photo. I’d keep the tag photo with a plain note naming the garment—‘blue wool jumper,’ not ‘IMG_4827’—once I had checked the explanation against the actual symbol and any written care instructions. Then the next person doing the load can find the answer without fishing for the tag again. A blurred or worn-out mark still needs checking; the phone's guess should not become a new instruction for the garment. Which little household lookup would you want your phone to handle this way, without installing another app?
