What should an AI car service recommendation show before you approve?

You are standing in the grocery store line when a text says your oil change found work that needs attention. A button to approve it is not enough. The message should say what the technician found, show the written price, and explain what can wait without making every recommendation sound like an emergency. And “not today” should be a normal answer—not an argument with a chatbot. Consumer Reports recently examined AI-powered service upsells at dealerships. The FTC’s basic advice still holds: get the estimate in writing and agree on the amount before work goes beyond it. What would make an AI service recommendation easier to trust when you are not standing at the counter?
