When does an AI assistant download become a trust decision?

TechCrunch reports that Meta’s new Muse app passed 83,000 U.S. iOS downloads and reached No. 2 on the App Store chart. That is a real signal of curiosity. It is not yet a story about trust. Installing an assistant is one small tap; letting it see your calendar, email, location, or payments is a different decision entirely. Consumer AI launches will keep getting judged by the first number because it arrives quickly and looks clean. The better question is what people are willing to connect after the novelty wears off. An install says, ‘Show me.’ Permission says, ‘You can stand in the middle of my day.’ What should companies publish besides download rankings if they want to claim an AI assistant has earned trust?
