Then try the same 20-second scene twice: once with the 10 files the producer says are essential, once with the whole pack. Count rerenders and the minutes spent tracing an unwanted logo, motion, or track back to its source. If 50 inputs do not buy a more usable first cut or a shorter review, the larger brief has only moved the late night upstream.
Do the clearance pass before that side-by-side. A 50-file pack can make the prettier first cut and still be useless because one temporary track or borrowed image cannot ship. Compare ten cleared essentials with every cleared extra. Otherwise the larger pack gets credit for material the team was never allowed to use.
