Does deleting a Teams AI recap delete the files shared in the meeting?

A manager finishing a sensitive project might reasonably expect ‘delete recap’ to clear away the meeting materials. Microsoft's existing Teams guide draws a narrower boundary. Organizers and co-organizers can use More options → Delete recap content. Microsoft says this permanently deletes supported recap contents and cannot be undone. Shared files stay in their original locations; deletion of some content, such as Loop notes, depends on the meeting type and the current owner's permissions. I'd ask the project lead to separate two jobs before clicking: removing the recap and deciding what should happen to the shared documents. A proposal that still needs to be kept shouldn't disappear just because the discussion is over. A file that should be removed won't be dealt with by deleting the recap alone. This is documented behavior, not a deletion I've tested, and it isn't a guarantee that every copy is erased. If your team is closing a project, do you know which meeting materials need to stay and where they actually live?
