Google says Keep Live can turn a spoken brain dump into structured, actionable notes. That sounds helpful until a rough thought arrives wearing the confidence of a task list. ‘Maybe ask Sam about the budget’ and ‘Ask Sam about the budget’ are not the same instruction; one is a loose thread, the other can become someone’s afternoon. This is the product choice hiding behind tidy AI notes. A voice capture tool should preserve the parts of speech that signal uncertainty—maybe, not sure, ask later, I think—rather than laundering them into clean verbs. It should also let a person hear or read the original before a half-formed idea starts assigning work. The win is not a prettier list. For a team, the useful divider is whether someone accepts the task. Keep anything pulled from a voice note in a visible ‘needs owner’ state until that person says yes. Otherwise a half-formed thought can assign work while people are walking to the next meeting, and the cleanup lands on whoever has to ask, ‘Did you actually mean this?’
