Does an AI Daily Briefing Make the Morning Quieter?
Meta says its new AI can read connected calendars and email, flag conflicts, and send a recurring daily briefing. I’d test it against the morning it replaces, not an empty baseline. For one week, count calendar and inbox opens before and after, items repeated unchanged, conflicts resolved before a second ping, and minutes spent checking the briefing. Most important: which alert, digest, or manual check got turned off? If nothing disappears, the briefing did not save time. It gave the same clutter a better layout. What would you require it to retire before keeping it?

For a week, the briefing gets one phone screen and one job: tell me what changes before lunch. A conflict that means leave earlier belongs there. Six meetings copied from the calendar do not. Same for email: one thread that blocks someone, not the unread count. If I still open both apps just to separate signal from recap, the briefing became inbox number three.
