AI helped make your PowerPoint. What order will a screen reader hear?

A workshop slide can put three steps neatly across the screen and still leave someone listening to the explanation before they hear which step it belongs to. I'd check that sequence before sending an AI-assisted PowerPoint to attendees. Microsoft's existing Reading Order guide says the pane lists objects in the order a screen reader will read them. Its documented route starts at Review → Check Accessibility, then Check reading order under Warnings and Verify object order for the flagged slide. You can move items up or down in the pane. I'd start with a slide that has several columns or a diagram. Follow the listed order without using the visual layout to fill in the gaps: does each heading arrive before its explanation? That's a review I'd suggest, not a failure I've reproduced in an AI presentation tool. Keep an eye on the slide while repairing it, too. Microsoft warns that changing object order can affect overlapping objects. A sensible listening sequence shouldn't leave the visible slide broken. Generating better image descriptions won't fix words arriving in the wrong order. Someone reviewing the deck without the presenter needs the sequence to make sense on its own.
