AI drafted your staff survey. Can you really promise anonymous answers?
An AI assistant can draft a staff survey quickly. Before sending it, I'd check whether the invitation promises more privacy than the questions allow. Microsoft's existing Forms guide says you can uncheck Record name for responses restricted to your organization. It also warns that a small recipient group, identifying answers or submission times can still let you match answers to people. Names not being recorded is a narrower promise than nobody being identifiable. Imagine asking a small team for their shift, role and an example of a difficult customer. The manager may recognize the person without a name field. That's an illustrative risk, not a Forms failure I've tested. I'd remove questions we don't need to make the decision, tell staff who can read the individual answers, and avoid calling the survey anonymous if we can't support that promise. A separate optional contact form can let someone ask for follow-up without putting their name beside the feedback. Which details would you drop before sending a survey to a small team?
